in action.
Cardell Corporation
When the Cardell Corporation sought to build a corporate
campus in Oakland County, they had difficulty finding a
suitable piece of land available for development. But Cunningham-Limp
used its real estate expertise to work out an innovative
agreement with the City of Auburn Hills that resulted in
a beautiful complex for Cardell, and a challenging municipal
golf course for the people of Auburn Hills.
Seeing the perfect opportunity to help Cardell while benefiting
an Oakland County community, Cunningham-Limp purchased the
Arrowhead Golf Course and then divided the land between
Cardell and the City of Auburn Hills. We not only developed
the master plan for an attractive corporate campus, but
designed and built the four new buildings that would become
the Cardell Corporation’s new home.
Cunningham-Limp also invited world-renowned golf course
designer Arthur Hills to lay out a beautiful new municipal
course. Now rated as one of the top municipal golf courses
in the Midwest, Fieldstone Golf Club is enjoyed (and cursed)
by golfers from Auburn Hills and beyond.
TRW
Automotive
In order to take advantage of certain Michigan tax benefits,
TRW Automotive found themselves under a tight deadline for
relocating their world headquarters from Cleveland, Ohio
to Livonia, Michigan. As a regional leader in both real
estate and construction, with an excellent track record
for meeting tight deadlines, Cunningham-Limp was the perfect
choice for facilitating the move.
TRW Automotive, the world leader in vehicle safety systems
and components, wished to sell their current headquarters
building, along with over 100 acres of surrounding land.
They also required that a new headquarters building be constructed
in Livonia, and that it reflect TRW’s commitment to
quality and innovation.
Cunningham-Limp brought its expertise to the situation,
quickly developing solutions in both states. We used our
extensive resources to buy TRW’s Cleveland building
and surrounding land, relieving TRW of this burden and leasing
the space to the company until it could relocate. In Michigan,
Cunningham-Limp secured an ideal property in Livonia and
built a state-of-the-art 120,000 square foot world headquarters.
All this was accomplished under the accelerated deadline,
allowing TRW Automotive to claim millions of dollars in
tax benefits, and creating over 150 new jobs in Michigan. |
